Crowns & Bridges

Healthy teeth can last a lifetime, but there are cases where your teeth need some additional support. Teeth that are damaged by decay, infection, or physical trauma will likely need some type of dental restoration. Using updated materials, techniques, and technologies, Dr. Lance Skinkys can create esthetic crowns or bridges to restore your smile to its full function, health, and beauty.

Uses for Dental Crowns

Also referred to as caps, crowns completely encase your natural tooth. Crowns are popular dental restorations because we can use them to address a wide range of dental problems. Using crowns, we can:

  • Repair damaged or worn teeth
  • Correct a misaligned dental bite
  • Fill gaps and uneven spaces between teeth
  • Restore dental function
  • Restore a dental implant

Our dental crowns are made from porcelain, a material that strongly resembles the appearance of your own teeth. With skill and expertise, Dr. Skinkys will create a dental crown for you that looks natural and blends seamlessly with your smile.

Dental Bridges and Missing Teeth

A bridge is usually made as a single unit, which includes an artificial tooth and crowns that attach to adjacent teeth. The crowns are bonded in place and act as a fixed tooth replacement. A dental bridge enhances your appearance and prevents neighboring teeth from moving into the empty space left by a missing tooth.

One of the concerns with bridges is the stress that supporting crowns place on your natural teeth. Depending on your situation, Dr. Skinkys may recommend a dental implant to anchor the bridge and take the pressure off your natural teeth, ensuring a comfortable, secure fit.

Your Treatment Your Way

We see every one of our patients as an individual with unique needs. Your treatment will be completely customized to address your specific concerns. Our goal is to use the most comfortable, least invasive treatment that protects the integrity of your teeth and provides desired results. We will communicate with you throughout the entire restorative process to make sure that the results go above and beyond your expectations.

Your time is valuable, and you’re more likely to stay up-to-date with your dental care if you can schedule appointments when it’s convenient for you and your family. We offer evening hours two nights a week and are also open on Saturdays.

We’re all aware of cost and the impact it has on your decisions about treatment. But you shouldn’t ever have to compromise your dental health due to financial considerations. We are providers for Delta Dental and Cigna and will file most insurance claims.

If you’re uninsured, we offer a reduced-fee dental plan that covers the cost of routine exams and cleanings and discounts on certain procedures. We are also pleased to work with CareCredit, a revolving healthcare credit card.

We welcome the opportunity to meet you and talk about the ways restorations like crowns and bridges can help you reach your oral health goals. Please give us a call, and a friendly member of our team will be happy to schedule a convenient appointment or consultation.
